Lesson 4: Capture the Moment (Using the Phone Adapter)

Lesson 4: Capture the Moment (Using the Phone Adapter)

Stargazing is better when shared. Here is the foolproof way to use your included smartphone adapter without losing your mind.

The Desk First Method:

Do it on a table first: Don't try attaching everything to the telescope right away. Lay the adapter on a well-lit table.

Align the camera: Place your phone into the adapter and align your phone's main camera lens directly over the adapter's viewing hole.

Clamp it tight: Once perfectly centered, lock your phone in place.

Mount it: Carefully slide the entire adapter assembly over the telescope's eyepiece and tighten the securing screw.

<Mentor's Pro Tip: > Seeing a black circle or "vignette" around your image on the phone screen? Simply pinch and zoom in about 1.2x on your phone's camera app. The black edges will disappear, leaving you with a full-screen, stunning photo of the moon!
